Wednesday August 19, 2009 President Obama hosted NASCAR drivers at a ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House. It was the first time such a wide selection of NASCAR drivers had been invited. Typically, only the champion attends. Past NASCAR Champions at the ceremony included Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Bobby Labonte, Richard Petty, Kurt Busch, Dale Jarrett, Juan Pablo Montoya and Denny Hamlin.
